Oracle will publish live emissions and water-use data for its newest AI data center

Oracle plans to launch a public dashboard tracking environmental data, including noise levels, water use, and emissions from onsite fuel cells, for its 1,400-acre AI data center campus under construction in Dona Ana County, New Mexico, known as Project Jupiter. The facility will run on low-emissions, near-zero-water fuel cells supplied by Bloom Energy rather than drawing primarily from the local water system.

"Being a good neighbor means protecting the land, water, and air; investing in the community; creating good jobs," said Mahesh Thiagarajan, an executive vice president at Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. Independent third-party environmental assessments will be conducted twice a year, comparing performance against baseline conditions and industry standards.

Oracle has also issued a request for proposals for 2 gigawatts of new renewable energy in New Mexico and partnered with the agricultural technology company Arable to conserve an estimated 21 million gallons of water annually in the Rio Grande-Bravo watershed. The project is expected to generate more than 7,000 construction jobs and 1,500 ongoing positions, along with roughly $100 million in state and local tax revenue and more than $400 million combined in community investments, including water system repairs and school funding.
